I’ve done Evony for only about 4 days and have advanced in Prestige to 6 digits and about 3/4 of the way up in standing and rank. My city is well developed and I was planning a second city, though there isn’t a clear way of determining just how to go about things sometimes. Especially as the game progresses, you really have to be able to think for yourself and figure a lot of things out… which for me is mostly fine. I have enjoyed Evony a great deal so far. There was a day earlier this week when I couldn’t log in, but then it came back online… until today. It’s been 5 hours and I can’t log in no matter what I do. It goes to a screen with the Evony logo and it says “loading” and yet never loads. My city was under “truce” status through the night and by now has come out of it, so I’m sure if I ever get on there again, everything will likely be wiped out. I probably will just blow it off and not bother. I did notice that, despite careful planning and figuring out how to manage resources, expansion, etc… and doing everything right to create a thriving, ongoing city, players can reach a point where the game fakes them out. It seems if you’re advancing too fast, population and loyalty can decrease without any reason and nothing you can do, short of depleting resources every hour to prop up your stats will stop the decline. If you’re working a game correctly, there should be some measure of success relative to your efforts… perhaps not running in first place, but a positive result rather than a negative one for working it the right way. In any event, after today if I still can’t get online I will just quit… nothing bugs me more than internet things that are ureliable.

I gave evony a good run and enjoyed playing for awhile. But the fact of it is.. they need to make their money and there are tons of people willing to spend their money to be one of the best in a game. It’s done all over, no different here. Really starts ruining the gameplay when your up against players that spend thousands. I got up to 5mil prest with over -50mil troop upkeep.. Just isnt worth it tho, become more like work than a game. As with anything I suppose. But from a ‘experienced’ evony player.. you will only be as good as the time you are willing to invest, and time is money. Nothing is free, nothing.

Well the only reason I’m typing is because I have to wait 145 hours till Archery lvl 10 and 1 hour 39mins tilll Academy lvl 9 But I swore I wouldn’t ask my Dad to spend but I’m getting more addictive so I’m thinking of getting my Dad in the game then he might offer. Evony is without a doubt a true masterpeice
The only problem with it is the completly obscene price of in game coins.
If they doubled the amount of coins you received per dollar spent, and then slashed the price of the items in the shop by half, everybody who plays would be happy to spend some cash here, but their obvious greed is actually costing them millions and their clearly too stupid to see it.

As it stands now the game is a total rip off, obscenely over priced, and really the people behind these prices should be put up against a wall, shot dead, and left to rot where they fall.

Idiots all of you, if you dont want to pay then dont. I havent paid im on about 700k pres with abotu 400k troops. Yes a paying player (or even a non paying player) could wipe me out bar one city but it would take me a week maximum to rebuild back to where I am. To answer 2 of th main conccerns – buying mich scripts, you can conquer a level 10 NPC when you do this every building inside is level 10, voila no scripts needed. Feeding troops you attack and take the resources from NPCs to feed your troops. Yes you have negative food every hour you just have to farm to make sure you have the food to cover it.

Ah Some people are stupid, I play server 35 and i host my own alliance only put in about 30 dollars for my first baronet promotion and im going from there. Feeding troops is easy, the negative numbers not a damn thing but that youve got one huge fkin army. Do yourself a damn favor and Farm lvl 5 npcs for one day and you get 3 mil food a raid on each one. Not That Hard To Figure Out. after all ive only got 350k prestige and 3 cities, and yet my food production is -200k plus in each town and i still manage to feed everybody WOW.

This game is quite addicting for a lot of people. Myself included. I think it goes without saying that it takes longer without buying cents, but why the rush? I talk to my neighbors and let them know that I am not there to cause trouble for right now, and will let them know when my intent changes. So if you are worried about war (which is apparently what most people play the game for) then a lot of times it is as easy as extending peace for the time being. You DONT have to buy cents, so technically it is FREE. As with many other games on the net, you just dont get all the perks as you could if you did buy the cents. Quit complaining about it. It’s just a friggin game.

if you want free evony cents you got to work at it. you just start building your town until you finish all the quests that give you cents for doing stuff. Then you click on your avatar picture go to restart game and you start over. BUT your cents you earned stay on your account. you can only restart once a day but it comes out to be like 25cents a day. n it only takes not even 15min to build the town up enough.

If you have problems with spending money and and want a big army..theres a simple solution

1)get 500balatista and 500 transporters(not that hard)

2)Get Archery lvl 10 and horsebackrifing over lvl 5 for min losses(kinda hard)

3)raid a lvl 5 NPC with a OK hero.

vola you have 3 mil food per raid. Im almost at -2million food production per hour in my main city(I have 5) and have no problem feeding my troops. There are some great videos out there for Evony.  They range from how to login and create your account.  To attacking and building your city. Some Evony Videos are crap, so I’ll try and find the ones that are worht watching and post them here.

This one is good for an introduction to the game. This is like Evony for Dummies.

Heres a free youtube tip: Don’t search for “Evony Queen” or “Evony Women” looking for the Evony Queen. Theres no videos that are for Evony, they’re all of Ebony (black) women.

How do you build troops?

In your Town screen you need to build a barracks, which requires a Rally Point to be built first.  Do this by clicking an empty square and clicking Build under the Rally Point.  Once the timer has finished, you can build a Barracks too by clicking on another empty square and clicking Build for a barracks.  Once the barracks has been built, click on the barracks and there is a list of troops you can build.  If you put your mouse over the recruit button it will tell you what you need to build that troop unit.

How do you get an Amulet?

Amulets are given out daily.  One per day.  Check your quest log and there is a daily quests tab in there.  Get Award for your daily amulet.

What are Amulets for?

Amulets are used for gambling.  This is done by clicking on the roulette wheel on the bottom left of the main screen.  There is a little icon that looks like a spinning top, or a roulette wheel.  This will give your town some random resources or items.  You can check how many amulets you have in your My Items button under your avatar top right of the screen.

Is Evony Free?

Evony is only free if you don’t spend money.  You don’t need to spend money to play the game and to enjoy the game, you only need to spend money if you are very impatient or like to gamble.  You can spend real money via paypal to buy game cents which can be used to speed up production or by items, or buy an amulet for a chance at gambling.

How do I play Evony?

Evony has a great quest system to help new players find out how to play evony.  This is started and watched in the Quest menu which is found on the bottom left of the screen.  The little scroll.  Go through your quests regularly to see if you can finish any now or to see what is the next quest to do.

How do I get more food/lumber/iron/stone?

You get more resources by building farms, quarries and lumber mills in the City window of Evony.  Each extra resource farm will give you more of that resource.  The green writing on the bottom right of the screen next to each resource shows how many of that resource you gain per hour.  So after another hour you will get that much extra food/wood etc.

How do I get more land?

More land for building more resource gathering farms is expanded by building up your Town Hall.  In the Town tab click on your town hall in the middle and Upgrade it.  Each upgrade gives you some more building squares for more resources.

How do I fight?

Attacking is a big part of Evony.  Once you have built some troops you can attack flats, lakes, swamps, forrests etc. on your Map screen.  This is done by clicking the square you want to attack and then clicking the Attack button.  Then you can chose how many troops to send.  Read through Scouting in Evony and Evony Games before you attack something.

Why are my troops not defending my city?

Your troops will only defend your city if your gates are open.  This is a very strategic point to the game.  If your gates are open by clicking on your Rally Point and ticking the box for Open Gates.

How do I build a new city?

New City

Building a new city is a massive step in your Evony Game.  To do this, you’ll need an empty city slot, read through Evony Castle Capturing to see if you have an open City slot.  Then you need to attack a flat (read the How do I fight answer)  and own the flat.  Then if you have the required resources (10,000 of each resource and 10,000 gold) there will be an extra button when you click on the flat in the Map window.  Click the button and name your new town.

Can you earn Coins?

No.  Coins are bought with real money.  There are incentives to spend money on the Evony Game which will get you coins to use in the game.  The only way to get coins without spending real money is by your daily amulet roulette gamble.

How do I join an alliance?

Evony Alliances are a necessary part of the game.  To join one you need to first build an Embassy in your Town tab, and then click on the embassy and apply to the Evony Alliance you wish to join.  Then the Alliance leader needs to accept your application.

How do I rename my city?

Click on your Town Hall in the Town window.  The far right button is City Rename.  Click it and change it.

How do I change my flag?

Click on your Avatar (your face) on the top right of the screen.  Then click the button for change flag.

How do I logout of Evony?

Close the browser window.

How do I scout?

Read through Scouting in Evony.

How do you get gold/money?

Gold can be obtained through raising your taxes.  The problem with this is you need to keep your population happy by doing Comforting in the Town Hall.  The other way of getting money is by attacking barbarian cities or other players.  The third way is by completing quests in your quests window.

How do I get more heroes?

Upgrade your Feasting Hall.  Each upgrade lets you get 1 more hero.  You need 1 hero for being Town Mayor, and more heroes for attacking.  If you’ve got a vacancy in your Feasting Hall, go to your Inn and recruit a new hero.

How do I save my Evony game?

Evony is a client-server based game that is constantly saving your game.  If your computer or browser dies, you just need to re login and your game will be there.  There is no need to save your game.  You can close the browser window any time and reopen it, login to evony and play your same game.

How do I get more population?

The population will rise if there is empty spaces for people.  This is done by building and upgrading cottages.  People will only come in to the same percentage that your towns happyness is.  If the town’s happyness is 90 then you can only fill 90% of your cottage space.  To make your town happier, try reducing your tax or temporarily making them happy by comforting in your Town Hall.

How do I make my population trend go up?

Your population trend will always try and ballance between the number of available spots in your cottages, and what the towns happyness is.  The trend going up and down doesn’t really matter as it will keep equalising itself back to a stable level.  If your tax rate is too high, then you might not have enough population to gather resources and the idle peasants will be red.  Try lowering your tax rate or building more cottages.

How many troops should I send to take over a valley?

Scout the valley you want to take over first, then put the details into the Exercise button on your Rally Point to see if you have enough troops and how many losses you might take.

How do I get Rose medals?

Attacking!  Attacking flats, lakes, swamps, forrests, NPC cities, other players.  There are also quests that give you medals, so check your quest log.

So a new day, and once again I can’t login to Evony.  And I blame the boobs.

The Evony Game has been growing in popularity since its arrival a month ago.  This is mainly due to the intense advertising campaign that UMGE has been pushing.  Yes I’m talking about boobs.  The ads that are plastered everywhere on search terms I’d never even thought of.  These Save the Queen, Save your Lover and others with boobs have been infecting the internet for a couple of weeks now.  Each time a new ad comes out it is more promiscuous than before.

This spamming of the internet has reached into every nook, crenny and orrifice of the net and plastered scantly clad women all over.  All begging players to come and play the MMORPG Evony Game.

The ads are just there to suck you in though.  Once you start playing there are beginner quests that are built to help you familiarise yourself with the game.  These are a great way to start out and also are the hook which makes players addicted to Evony.  As you watch your castle grow and build resources and troops you get more and more hooked and want more and more castles.  This is the hook where the boobs are the bait.

Once swallowing the hook, you will play Evony like the other 3 million online gamers that are enjoying Evony now.

One of the great things about Evony Free Forever is the people playing.  Its a shame that each Evony Alliance can only hold 100 people, as I don’t think 100 is enough.  200 might be better, but 200 might get into the realms of being able to take over a country and hold it against all the other alliances.  This sounds like fun until you realise that you won’t have anyone to attack anymore!

So you’ve got these 100 friends online at various times – it is a world-wide game remember, and everyone is different.  Some people might play a few minutes a day, and be online in Evony for a short period.  Other players might have an Evony browser open all day and watch the Evony Alliance chat constantly.  Some people might stay up late evony night, others might login to evony in the morning before going to work.  These people can help you reinforce your towns when you’re being attacked.  They can send you food or other resources to help your building or feed your troops.

One thing I’ve noticed while playing Evony is the other people playing aren’t what I expected.  There are a lot of older people playing and even a lot of women playing, which is quite refreshing.  The people that have the dedication to get their Evony games up to the top are usually NOT kids!  There are actually not many kids that play Evony.  I think this is because kids these days don’t have the concentration to play a strategy game.  Evony has often been called a MMORTSG, Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy Game.  I think this is the main reason why kids don’t play it.  It requires some time dedication and what most kids lack these days – patience!

Kids these days would rather play a playstation or x-box or some other console.  They don’t know computers, or don’t want to use the keyboard.  So the hard-core gamers of generation X and generation Y can play online strategy games like Evony Online in peace, without kids getting on and getting bored so doing random stuff and ruining it for the real Evony People.

So Evony has had another patch and we have been told that the level of the walls affects how far the archer towers can strike from.  This may not sound like much, but in an MMORPG like Evony, a change like this changes the whole gameplay.

The Walls on Evony used to be just to store more defences.  Defences like Traps, Abatis, Archer Towers, Rolling logs and Defensive Trebuchet.  Each building level of walls can hold more.  Level 10 walls can hold 55,000 “spaces” with each different type of defence using different amounts of space.  eg a Trap is 1 space, but an Archer Tower is 3.  This means that many people could have many different strategies, or ways of filling their walls.  Most people just stick with heaps of Archer Towers.

With the latest Evony Patch, the level of towers enhances the range of these Archer Towers (and other defences).  So 5,000 Archer Towers on level 8 walls will do more damage than the same 5,000 Archer Towers on level 6 walls.  When you get to the high end of the walls level the Archer Towers do a LOT more damage to invading troops.  A level 10 walls with 15,000 Archer Towers will rip apart most armies.  Examples of 40,000 archers and 30,000 other troops getting annihilated against 15,000 Archer Towers.  This was not the case before the patch.  Now it is, and it has made attaking other people a lot more dangerous.

So now to attack another player, or even an NPC barbarian city on Evony you will lose troops.  The number of troops will depend on what level the enemies walls are, and how many archer towers are on them.

This is the reason why people can only attack level 5 barbarian towns without losses.  Level 6 barbarian towns have level 6 walls, which have enough range to hit ballistas, and even catapults.

You can mitigate these losses by having high Archery Technology.  But this is still outranked and outgunned by high level walls.

Walls might be the next big thing for using up your Michelangelo’s Scripts.

Being a part of an alliance while playing Evony Free Forever is a must for people over 50k prestige.  When your prestige is near the 50k mark you will be gathering a lot of resources and possibly have 2 cities.  At 50k prestige, the problem you have is your army won’t be that big, so it won’t be easy to defend your towns.  This will make you look like a TARGET.

You will look even more like a target if you are by yourself.  That is, you don’t have an Evony Alliance to back you up.  So when people are scouring the map for someone to attack, and they see your juicy city with no Alliance label on it, then you will look alone, and vulnerable.

To join an Evony Alliance, you need an embassy.  It only needs to be level 1 to join someone elses alliance.  It will need to be level 2 if you want to create your own.  Joining another alliance is a great way to start out.  You have a couple of options on picking an alliance.  One way is to watch World Chat and wait for people advertising for new members.  This is a sure-fire way of getting into an alliance if you fit their requirements (over 20k prestige, over 30k, etc.). 

Another other way is to do some research!  Go through the alliance information, the button for which is on the bottom left of the screen.  Find an alliance that is not full, 100 members is full, and then do some research into what size the members are.  Have a look at all the members and the range of prestige for their members.  You won’t get into an alliance that has members from 100k prestige and upwards if your prestige is only 20k.  Once you find an alliance which fits your prestige level you can mail the leader of the alliance, or just apply to join that alliance.  I would do both to let the leader know you are interested.

The third way to join an alliance is to find someone nearby who is in an alliance and chat to them.  If you chat to them for a while, you might be able to slip in that you would like to join their alliance and could they ask their leader if it would be ok.  This is a great way to Switch Alliances.

Once your in an alliance, you should join their Evony Alliance Forum where you can chat to other members, share kill stories and strategies for attacking barbarian towns.

You can chat on the Alliance Chat window which replaces the World Chat window.  Talking to other members is the best way to ask for help, ask for resources or troops.  Let them know if you’re being attacked by someone else and where your city is that is being attacked.  Alliance members can help other members, but communication is the key!

Once you’re in an Evony Alliance you can join your other members in WAR with other alliances.

Most players on Evony know that if you attack barbarian towns up to a level 5 barbarian town, all you need to send is ballistas and transports.  Doing this you will suffer 0 losses and get a big chunk of resources.  If you attack an evony barbarian level 6, then you will lose around 70 to 75 ballistas on each attack.  These losses go up as the barbarian town levels go up.

There was a diamond in the rough though.  If you have invested time into building level 10 barracks and were slowly and steadily pumping out catapults, which have the longest range in the game, then you could hit level 6 and level 7 barbarian towns without suffering any losses, similar to ballistas before the patch.  Now though UMGE has released another sneaky patch without telling the evony gamers and the latest patch takes out this feature.  What hurts even more is that you lose more catapults than if you had sent ballistas.

On a level 6 barbarian town, you will lose consistantly 70 to 75 ballistas.  On the same town attacking with just catapults and transports you will lose 130 to 140 catapults!  These catapults are supposed to have more range and less speed, meaning they should be shooting from a greater distance and moving in to be killed even slower than ballistas.  Something has gone awry with the evony calculations though as they are getting killed easier and more often than ballistas.

To put it into perspective, a ballista can be made in a level 9 barracks, of which most players will have up to 10 in each and every city they own.  Ballistas only take 10 minutes to build 1.  Catapults on the other hand, require much more hard to get technology advances, a level 10 barracks and catapults take 20 minutes to build 1.  Most players will only have a small number of level 10 barracks, maybe 1 to 3.  So a loss of 130 catapults puts the player back 43 hours.  nearly 2 days of catapult building!  Compared to 20 minutes to rebuild 70 ballistas.

So it still remains that the best way to keep your troops fed is by attacking evony barbarian towns under level 6, OR attacking other players.

Evony Online has been around for over a month now, and many players in the 5 oldest servers (servers 1 to 5) are getting to the “end game”.  Unfortunately Evony doesn’t have much to do at the End Game.

Players that are over 300k prestige usually have 9 or 10 cities, and their cities are usually at the point of fully developed.  Also their research will all be at level 10.  What is left in this ever growing in popularity MMORPG? 

At prestige of over 300k generally the player will have ammassed a large army or two, or 9.  These armies need food to survive, and players were running their cities at a loss for food and were topping up by hitting barbarian towns which could be done without significant losses.  A couple of days ago, all these end game players were attacking NPC barbarian cities.  As of the latest patch, which brought in the lvl6 and on barbarian towns now take a toll whenever you attack them, these players aren’t attacking barbarian towns any more.  This latest patch has made these large players do whatever they could to survive.  This meant attacking other players, and in most cases on all servers this means WAR.

So WAR has broken out in all servers as a consequence of this latest patch, and the high end players are trying to hit as many other players as possible simply to get enough food to feed their troops.

 This has worked as a delaying tactic as if the high-end players weren’t forced to seek out food this much, they would have NOTHING to do!  This is the problem with End Game Evony.  There is nothing else to do once you’ve got 10 cities all maxed out with every city and town square populated with a level 9 building.  The Michelangelo’s Scripts aren’t dropping enough from attacking everything in site, so everything is stalled at level 9.  Theres no more research to do as its all level 10.

So the question is.  What is a high end player going to do after maxing out all their cities?

There is 2 answers.  First one is the most obvious – WAR.  The second one is Save The Queen.  Problem with this is theres no queen yet, and no one has told us how to save her!
