Civony
Civony was the original name for Evony the latest and greatest Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG).
After playing for 2 weeks, the 400,000+ players were informed that they have been playing a BETA and the live version was going online soon. This was followed by much confusion in the community as no one knew what was going to happen to their accounts and wondered if the money they had spent on the game so far was a waste.
A couple of days after being told that Civony is a BETA the name was changed to Evony and all accounts were moved over to the new domain Evony. The civony.com was redirected to evony.com and players logged into their game on Evony without any fuss. The switch from Civony to Evony worked extremely well and with little or no disruption of game
